This guide provides comprehensive troubleshooting steps for persistent pairing issues and device connection problems.


When to Use Advanced Troubleshooting 

Use these methods when:

  • Multiple pairing attempts have failed
  • Device appears in WiFi list but won't connect
  • Setup process freezes or times out repeatedly
  • Basic troubleshooting hasn't resolved the issue


Complete Device Reset Process

Step 1: Clear Mobile Network Connection

  • Go to your phone's WiFi settings
  • Find "Aura-XXXXXX" in your network list
  • Tap on it and select "Forget"
  • This ensures a clean connection attempt

Step 2: Power Cycle Device

  • Unplug your Aura Air device from electricity
  • Wait 10 seconds before proceeding
  • This clears any temporary connection states

Step 3: Factory Reset Device

  • With device unplugged, locate the single button on your Aura Air device
  • Press and hold the button for 13 seconds
  • Plug the device back in while still holding the button
  • Watch for this LED sequence:
    • Fast Blinking Green
    • Breathing Green
  • Release the button when you see breathing green
  • Wait for the LED sequence to complete

Step 4: Restart Complete Pairing Process

  • Return to the Aura Air app
  • Begin device setup from the beginning following Article 2: Device Pairing Process
  • Ensure your WiFi network meets all requirements from the WiFi Requirements guide


Network-Related Troubleshooting

WiFi Requirements Check 

Before attempting pairing again, verify:

  • 2.4 GHz network availability (5 GHz not supported)
  • No firewall blocking on TCP Port 5683
  • WPA/WPA2 security (WEP not recommended)
  • Device within range of router

Advanced Network Issues

If reset procedures don't resolve the issue:

  • Try mobile hotspot connection to isolate network problems
  • Check router settings for MAC address filtering
  • Verify DHCP is enabled for automatic IP assignment
  • Consult your network administrator for corporate networks
