Consumer App: Device Pairing Process

This guide walks you through pairing your Aura Air device with the mobile app, from initial configuration to successful connection.


Prerequisites

  • Aura Air app installed and logged in
  • Aura Air device unpacked and plugged into power
  • WiFi network meeting Aura Air requirements


Step 1: Start Device Setup

Initiating Pairing 

From your devices dashboard, tap the "+" icon in the upper right corner to begin adding a new device.


Step 2: Device Configuration

Basic Device Settings 

On the "New Device" screen, configure:



  1. Device Name: Enter a descriptive name for easy identification
  2. Room Location: Select from the dropdown menu (Living Room, Bedroom, Kitchen, etc.)
  3. Operating Mode: Choose initial mode (Auto Mode recommended for beginners)

Tap "Next" when all fields are completed.


Step 3: License Key Validation 

After purchasing a new Aura Air device or replacement filter, you'll receive a License Key. Enter this key during setup to activate your device. License Keys remain valid for one year from activation.



Step 4: Aura Air Device Preparation

Activating Pairing Mode 

The "Connect to your Device" screen provides these instructions:



  1. Locate the Button: Find the single button on your Aura Air device
  2. Press and Hold: Hold the button for 4 seconds
  3. LED Indicator: Wait for the front LED to turn green (indicates Listening Mode)
  4. Visual Confirmation: Ensure the device shows a green blinking light


Step 5: WiFi Connection Process

Phase 1: Connect to Device

  1. Tap "Enter WiFi Settings" button
  2. Your phone's WiFi settings will open automatically (as shown in the screen mockup)
  3. Look for "Aura-XXXXXX" in the available networks list
  4. Select the Aura network (it will have a unique identifier)
  5. Return to the Aura Air app

Phase 2: Select Home Network On the "Connect to WiFi" screen:



  1. Network Selection: Choose your home WiFi network from the list
  2. Password Entry: Enter your WiFi password in the "WiFi Password" field
  3. Network Types: Both secured (lock icon) and open networks are supported
  4. Refresh Option: Use "Refresh WiFi List" if your network doesn't appear
  5. Tap "Next" to proceed


Step 6: Device Setup Completion

Setup Process 

The "Setting up your device" screen appears with the message: "This process may take a few moments"



  • Wait patiently during this automated process
  • Do not close the app or interrupt the connection
  • Normal duration is typically 1-3 minutes

Successful Completion When setup completes successfully:



  • The "Finish" button will appear
  • Tap "Finish" to complete the onboarding
  • Your device will now appear in your device list
  • You can begin monitoring air quality immediately
