Short answer: You can, but you probably shouldn't.
Here are three good reasons to keep it running:
- Your electric bill won't notice. The Aura Air uses about as much power as a regular light bulb - somewhere between 6 to 48 watts depending on what it's doing. Even running 24/7, that's maybe a few dollars a month.
- Turning it back on is a hassle. Every time you unplug it, you're basically starting over. The device needs 1-2 days to figure out your air quality again before it can give you reliable readings or work at full capacity.
- It's meant to stay busy. The whole point is continuous air cleaning. Turn it off and you're back to breathing whatever was floating around before - dust, allergens, odors, you name it.
Bottom line: Unless you're leaving town for weeks or there's a storm coming, just let it do its thing. It's designed to be a "set it and forget it" kind of device.
